The Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI) has signed contracts for two ten-year community sound broadcasting services.  The contracts were awarded to; Liffey Sound (Lucan and its Environs) and Raidió na Life (Community of Interest service, in the Irish language, for Dublin City).

Speaking at the contract signings, Chief Executive of the BAI, Michael O’Keeffe, said: “The BAI wishes each contractor continued success in serving their audiences and continuing to address the interests of the communities that they serve.”

The BAI was represented at the contract signings by the Chairperson, Pauric Travers and Michael O’Keeffe, Chief Executive.  The signatories for each of the stations, together with the effective date for each contract, are as follows:

(L) Raidió na Life / Dublin City / Susan Ní Dhubhlaoich, Chairperson; P.T. MacRuairí, Secretary / 1st February 2017
(R) Liffey Sound / Lucan and its Environs / Patrick Quinn, Chairperson; Brendan Hackett, Secretary / 1st January 2017
  

Údarás Craolacháin na hÉireann (BAI) tar éis conarthaí a shíniú i gcomhair dhá sheirbhís chraoltóireachta fuaime ar feadh deich mbliana.  Áirítear leis na seirbhísí; seirbhísí raidió pobail do Leamhcán agus Máguaird, Liffey Sound agus seirbhís Pobail Spéise sa Ghaeilge do Chathair Bhaile Átha Cliath, Raidió na Life.

Guíonn an BAI rath leanúnach ar gach aon chonraitheoir chun freastal ar a lucht éisteachta agus chun aird a thabhairt i gcónaí ar leasanna na bpobal ar a bhfreastalaíonn siad.”

Bhí ionadaíocht ag BAI ag síniú na gconarthaí ón gCathaoirleach, Pauric Travers agus Michael O’Keeffe, an Príomhfheidhmeannach.
