Tipp Mid-West Radio, St. Michael’s Street, Tipperary Town is seeking applications for the position of: Radio Producer / Technical Assistant
This is a PART-TIME position (19.5 hours/week)
Job Description
- This position involves the following key duties:
- The technical set-up of Outside Broadcasts (OBs)
- Presenting links for live OBs, as required
- Editing audio files for broadcast
- Application, production, writing, recording & editing of documentary-style programmes for commissioned programming (BAI Sound & Vision Funded projects)
- Presenting live music programmes, as required
- Continuity broadcasting, if required
- Training new volunteer presenters in the use of studio equipment & presentation skills, as required
Professional & Personal Attributes Required
- Experience in radio broadcasting, including the use of live studio equipment & software
- Experience in the use of audio editing software (e.g. Cool Edit)
- Experience in the technical aspects of Outside Broadcasting
- Excellent communication skills, including:
- Fluent written & spoken English
- Excellent interpersonal & interviewing skills
- Very good I.T. skills, including word processing, internet research, social media etc.
- Candidates should be content to work under their own initiative to execute the key duties of the position, in an independent manner
- Candidates should be flexible, and able to work to a dead-line
Important Eligibility Criteria
This position is supported by the Community Services Programme (CSP), funded by POBAL. Therefore, candidates must be either:
- Self-Employed
OR
- From ONEof the following categories:
- In receipt of Jobseeker’s Benefit (JB), Jobseeker’s Assistance (JA), Covid-19 Pandemic Unemployment Payment, one parent family payment (OPF) or the Jobseeker Transitional Payment
- In receipt of disability allowance (DA), invalidity pension, blind person’s pension or other disability benefit
Note:
Persons employed from Tús, Gateway, Community Employment (CE) and Job Initiatives (JI) schemes are deemed eligible but cannot simultaneously hold a CSP and Tús/Gateway/CE/JI/RSS position. Former RSS workers who were previously CE participants are also eligible
